Security measures in Karachi have been significantly tightened, with Rangers and police conducting a joint flag march across the city. On the 8th of Muharram, Sindh Rangers and police carried out a combined flag march in various areas of Karachi. According to a spokesperson for Sindh Rangers, the flag march aimed to ensure and enhance security during Muharram. The march covered numerous key locations including Khatam-e-Nabuwat Chowk, Abbas Town, Abu Al Hasan Isphahani Road, NIPA Chowrangi, Hussain Hazara Goth, Bolan Sajji, Millennium Mall, Stadium Road, Shabbirabad, Bahadurabad, University Road, New Sabzi Mandi Road, Daud Chowrangi, Liaquatabad, Malir, and other areas. During the flag march, major Imambargahs and procession routes were inspected. Snipers from the Rangers have been stationed on high-rise buildings along the main procession routes to ensure security. Additionally, route clearances for the main processions have been carried out with the assistance of sniffer dogs.
In the context of Muharram, strict monitoring is being conducted at all entry and exit points of Karachi and Sindh. Suspicious vehicles are being thoroughly checked, and additional personnel have been deployed at these critical points to ensure security.
