ISLAMABAD – The Security cells have been established at the federal, provincial and district levels for the protection of foreign nationals.
A comprehensive security framework has been developed to ensure the safety of foreign nationals. According to the document, the separate foreign security cells have been established at the federal, provincial and district levels.
The document stated that under the security framework, a Federal Foreign National Security Cell has been established, which will operate under the Ministry of Interior.
Similarly, at the provincial level, the provincial foreign security cells will be responsible for security tasks.
The security cells have also been set up in Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
At the local level, District Foreign Security Cells will ensure the safety of foreign nationals.
For the protection of foreign nationals, the police, Special Protection Unit (SPU) and Special Security Unit (SSU) will be responsible for security duties.
Additionally, the armed forces can be called upon for the security of foreign dignitaries. Government agencies overseeing foreign nationals will designate focal persons for security arrangements.
Moreover, the Department of Tourism will be responsible for the security arrangements of tourists and foreign journalists. The Department of Tourism will oversee the security of foreign diplomats, tourists, journalists, students, athletes, and religious pilgrims.
