The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on Wednesday suspended the decision of Peshawar High Court (PHC) allowing reinstatement of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa teachers.
The Supreme Court three-member bench, headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, admitted for hearing the appeals of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government against the Peshawar High Court (PHC) decision and issued notices to concerned parties for the next hearing which will take place after the court’s winter holidays ending on January 3.
“The teachers who were recruited were not qualified, and inducted on political grounds,” KP Advocate General Shamail Butt presented the argument before the court on Wednesday. On this, Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that political priorities were a different thing.
Justice Muneeb Akhtar asked were these documents presented before the Peshawar High Court? He remarked that the KP Education Department thinks that every document will be welcomed in the court. On this, the KP Advocate General said all these inductions were made fulfilling the necessary rules.—INP
