Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Wednesday welcomed the launch of universal health coverage programme (UHIP) from remote/ backward areas of the province, saying the facility will provide best healthcare facilities to general public.
SACM Dr Firdous said the duo of PM Imran Khan and CM Usman Buzdar is working day and night to benefit the common man.
The PTI has done a lot in its two and a half years tenure and the mission of composite development was being pursued with zeal, she said.
The Special Assistant said the PTI believes that the common man has every right over the development process and schemes like universal health coverage are very important in developing a healthy society.
It is the basic objective of the democratic process to ensure the welfare of every segment of society, she said.
The PTI government has ensured that the fruits of development are reaching out to everybody.
Dr Firdous said the Punjab government has chalked out a revolutionary program ‘Khidmat Aap Ki Dehleez Par’ which includes the cleanliness of cities, towns, rural areas and government buildings and will resolve issues of water drainage swiftly. The CM will soon inaugurate the program.
She said the ‘Khidmat Aap Ki Dehleez Par’ app has been designed that can be downloaded from the play store.
The SACM said that a cleanliness week will be celebrated to remove the garbage, repair street lights and remove walk chalking.
Similarly, a week will be reserved for the beautification of parks and green belts, buildings and offices.
Likewise, public toilets, drains, manholes and sewerage lines will be cleaned to improve the quality of life of the common man.
Dr Firdous said the departments will work under one theme every week to improve their image and to provide the best services.
People from civil society, locals, and the tiger force will be included in this drive to beautify the cities.
The field activities will be monitored through an app and districts will be categorized according to their performance.
Meanwhile, around 288,194 corona patients are recovered in the public sector hospitals being run under the control of Specialized and Primary & Secondary Healthcare departments, while 1881 patients are recovered during the last 24 hours.
This was disclosed by Barrister Nabeel Ahmed Awan Secretary Specialized Healthcare Punjab today.
He said that 7576 beds were reserved in all govt. hospitals for corona patients, out of which 5518 beds were unoccupied.
Likewise, 1648 beds reserved in govt. hospitals of the provincial metropolis and 1194 beds were vacant so far.
The Secretary SHC&MED said that in view of the surging corona pandemic, the department had arranged 3328 beds in Isolation wards of all govt. hospitals in the province, out of which, 2765 beds were vacant.
However, 446 beds for corona patients are reserved in isolation wards set up in govt. hospitals of Lahore and 356 beds are unoccupied.
In addition, 3459 beds are also reserved in HDU for patients suffering from Covid-19 in all the hospitals of Punjab government and 2297 beds are vacant while, in hospitals of Lahore, 927 beds reserved in HDU and 698 beds are unoccupied, Nabeel Awan added.
