LAHORE – Former Governor Punjab and PPP estranged leader Sardar Latif Khosa on Sunday joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

PPP suspended the party membership of the senior Apex Court lawyer in September 2023 for representing the founding PTI chairman in multiple cases.

Three months after suspension from the PPP, Latif Khosa joined the PTI as per the expectations of the political analysts.

Talking to the newsmen after joining the PTI, Khosa said that the move was aimed at starting the struggle to lead the nation towards a beautiful day.

Referring to the recent trend of people holding press conferences to announce leaving the PTI, he said the decision to join the party was his own.

“If rendering services for your nation makes you a lunatic, then yes I am a lunatic,” Khosa said.

Veteran politician praised Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa for efforts to ensure holding elections on time.

He said that the CJP should also have ordered the appointment of returning officers from the judiciary instead of taking them from the bureaucracy. He said that the nation was looking towards coming elections. “Let the nation elect its leader”, he said.

He expressed resentment over the arrest of PTI Senior Vice President Sher Afzal Marwat from outside the Lahore High Court.

He also came hard on the caretaker Punjab Chief Minister, saying he (Mohsin Naqvi) was a chair taker and not the caretaker.
