Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meet for Eidul Fitr moon sighting today

ISLAMABAD – The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is all set to meet in Islamabad today (Tuesday) for sighting of Shawwal-ul-Mukarram crescent, which will mark an end to the holy month of Ramadan.

Chairman of the Committee Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.

Members from various institutions, including Ministry of Science and Technology, Pakistan Meteorological Department, and The Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission will also participate in the meeting.

Zonal members from Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Quetta, and Peshawar will also contribute to the deliberations.

Emphasizing the importance of public involvement, Maulana Azad has encouraged citizens to actively engage in moon sighting efforts for Shawwal-ul-Mukarram.

What the Met Office Says?

Met Office has predicted that there are clear chances of Eid moon sighting today and the festival will take place on April 10 Wednesday.

Eidul Fitr Holidays in Pakistan

Eid Holidays in Pakistan: Ramadan 2024 is winding down to an end and anticipation starts building for Eidul Fitr 2024.

A notification was shared online, suggesting four holidays for government employees on occasion of Eid ul Fitr but the federal government warned people not to share the fake notification.

It said “In continuation of cabinet division’s circular, it is for general information that the prime minister is please to declare 9 April 2024 to 12th April 2024 (Tuesday to Friday) as public holiday for Eid ul Fitr.”
