Ramzan relief package 2024 in Pakistan: Check eligibility, other details

ISLAMABAD – The Utility Stores Corporation has announced the Ramzan relief package 2024 worth Rs7.49 billion as the holy month draws closer.

The announcement comes after the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) approved the package to facilitate people in the month of fasting.

Utility Stores spokesperson said that targeted subsidy will be given on 19 basic commodities.

What Items are Included in Ramzan Relief Package?

Under the relief package, flour, sugar, ghee, cooking oil, rice, pulses, dates, milk, basin, drinks and other items will be provided at discounted prices.

Eligibility for Ramzan Relief Package 2024 in Pakistan

Officials said families registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) are eligible for the targeted subsidy to be offered under the relief package.

They said that special discounted rates will also be offered to common customers during the holy month of Ramzan.

Ramzan date and time in Pakistan

As Muslims across the world, including Pakistan, are gearing up to welcome the holy month of Ramadan 2024, astronomy experts have predicted dates for the commencement of the Islamic month.

Experts predicted that the first day of Ramadan 2024 would be observed on March 11 (Monday). However, a final decision about the start of the holy month will be taken by the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee after moon sighting.

It is for the first time Ramadan is going to start in winter season in Pakistan and other parts of world after 26 years.
