ISLAMABAD – Several brilliant minds from minority backgrounds have been breaking barriers and achieving significant success in Pakistan, with Rajender Meghwar becomes the latest individual who made history as the first Hindu officer to join Pakistan’s Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).
The officer from the underprivileged Badin district took charge as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Faisalabad. He passed the Civil Services Examination (CSS) and decided to join the police force, and called it a dream come true to serve the public, expressing that his role in the police will enable him to address community issues directly.
With his sheer hard work and determination, Meghwar proves excellence despite being from the minority community. This growing trend highlights the country’s potential for inclusivity and progress.
Senior officials of law enforcement are proud on his appointment, highlighting that his presence as a Hindu officer will contribute to maintaining law and order, while also strengthening ties with minority communities.
The inclusion of Hindus in PSP is seen as a step toward promoting inclusivity within the police force, and it also inspires others.
Couple of years back, 22-year-old Raja Rajinder also secured position as the country’s first Hindu police officer (ASP). Rajinder also amassed support as he cracked CSS with lack of basic facilities in his hometown. Despite plethora of woes, he remained composed and achieved one of the highest honors in Pakistan’s civil service.
