Rain turns weather colder in City

Rain accompanied by strong wind lashed teh provincial metropolis in the wee hours of Friday. The rain started just before Sehri time and turned the weather colder.

Rain caused disruption of electricity in the City as over 160 feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) tripped, plunging various parts of the city into darkness.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist till Friday.

Rain was also reported in different other cities of country including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Sahiwal, Narowal, Shorkot, Chiniot, Minchanabad, Pakpattan, Karak and several other cities.

Met Office has predicted dry weather in most plain areas of the country during the next 24 hours.

However, rain wind-thunderstorm is expected in northeast Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during morning hours.
