Radio Pakistan is always playing a pivotal role in promotion of cultural and national values and preserving heritage.
The views were expressed by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz while unveiling Marconi Transmitter Memorial as part of the Independence Day celebrations at National Broadcasting House of Radio Pakistan, Islamabad.
This antique transmitter was installed at Manawan Lahore in 1937, broadcast creation of Pakistan on the midnight falling between August 13 and 14, 1947. The announcements of creation of Pakistan in English by Zahur Azar and in Urdu by Mustafa Ali Hamdani“Talu-e-Subh-e-Azadi.” were played in which they gave the news to millions across the Subcontinent that a new Muslim state had born.
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shibli Faraz says Radio Pakistan is voice of the nation and played historic role in commanding the information flow, with easy access, all over the world since the Independence Day. He said that Nations that do not protect their historical heritage, forget their values or leave their heritage behind will never find their rightful place in the world and Radio Pakistan is the only institution that representing Pakistani values and culture.
Shibli Faraz said that independence was the reward of the prayers of millions of mothers and the proclamation of history written with the blood of thousands of martyrs. He added, the transmitter of the “Marconi” that we have today preserved forever as a national heritage is a practical proof that this nation will perpetuate its independence forever, and anti Pakistani elements will not succeed in their nefarious designs.
Information Minister further said that people of the Holy Land will always be in the spirit of patriotism and pledged that Pakistani Nation will never hesitate to make any sacrifice to protect the beloved homeland. Congratulating the entire Pakistani nation on the auspicious occasion of 14th August the Minister assured that PTI government will continue its sincere efforts for the stability, prosperity and security of the country. He also prayed for the development of Pakistan and the independence of IOJ&K. He reassured his support and all possible cooperation to Director General Radio Pakistan Ambreen Jan for the development of this institution and also thanked the entire team of Radio Pakistan who worked tirelessly day and night to bring this work to fruition.
On the occasion, Secretary Information Akbar Hussain Durrani thanked all the participants and said that the asset that Radio Pakistan has secured today is a historic and invaluable transmitter from which historic announcement made for the Independence of the motherland. He said that Radio Pakistan is preserving all its valuable assets forever; it is the voice of the nation which is a very reliable and effective voice.
He said that Radio Pakistan always express the aspirations of the people and will continue to raise its voice from every platform for the hoisting of the national flag and stands side by side with the state at all times.
