Renowned Qawwal Sher Miandad Khan and his son were injured on resistance in a robbery attempt on the back way home in Faisalabad.
According to police, Sher Miandad was stopped by robbers on way back from Mandranwala Darbar. He, however, put up resistance, upon which the dacoits opened fire on him. Later, the robbers fled the scene while taking away cellphones and cash amounting to Rs0.2 million.
Sher Miandad and his son were brought to DHQ Hospital where doctors termed their condition stable. Doctors treated him for bullet wound in the chest which slightly affected his lungs. His son received a bullet at his right hand. After taking discharge slip from the hospital, the father-son duo left for Lahore.
Sher Miandad was born in Pakpattan and started a qawwali group in 1996. His grandfather Din Mohammad Qawwal was famous for qawwali across the Subcontinent.
