Foreign NGO ‘Qatar Charity’ has rebuilt almost a century old mosque, damaged by 2010 flood, in Basti Rodin Walli of Muzaffargarh District. The re-construction has been completed at a cost of Rs2 million.
Located at suburban part of Basti Rodin Walli, the mosque had suffered huge damaged due to heavy flood in the district ten-year ago. It was declared among some of iconic heritage sites in old quarters of the city.
Qatar Charity Director Numan Gilani informed that over Rs2 million have been spent on re-construction of the mosque and now it has been restored to its original form.
He said about 100 people can offer prayer at a time in the mosque and all relevant facilities have been made avail for the followers. He termed re-construction of the mosque a gift for people of the entire area.
Meanwhile, a large number of locals took to street to express gratitude to Qatar Charity. They said that through re-construction of the mosque, the charity has fulfilled their longstanding desire.
