The sitting PTI government in Punjab has increased the annual budget of Social Welfare and Baitulmal ministry and took number of other initiatives for the welfare and uplift of the poor, needy and special persons.
Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Baitulmal Syed Yawar Abbas Bukhari said this while talking to journalists at his residence.
He said, to achieve this target different departments under this ministry are working actively which include Aafiyat Ghar, Dar ul Falah, Sanaatzar, Chamanzar, Nasheman, Dar ul Sakoon, Dar ul Amaan, Gehwara, Kashana and Modern Children Homes are working for the welfare, skill development and giving shelter to needy children and women. Yawar said, in addition a pilot project “Maskan” will need launched soon where special children will be given education and boarding facilities at par with international standard.
He said that medical service units are working in all the district headquarters hospitals of the Punjab to provide free of cost medicines to the needy patients and said that 94 Panahgahs are operational in different areas of Punjab where thousand of needy people are availing free of cost meals and accommodation on daily basis. While replying a question he said that online Registeration of the disable people is in progress while many dormant NGOs have been, Adeel active are now working actively in their respective fields for the uplift of the poor.
