Punjab eases restrictions on food outlets on smog reduction

LAHORE – The Punjab government on Monday relaxed restrictions on food outlets after reduction in smog intensity in the province.

All kinds of food outlets in the province are now allowed to provide dine-in, eatery in car parking and take-away services till 10:00 pm. These food outlets can provide home delivery services round the clock.

“The ambient air quality has improved in most parts of Punjab due to rain in upper parts, change in wind direction and speed. Therefore, the restrictions imposed regarding ban on dine in (including eatery in car parking) after 4:00 pm and take-away after 8:00 pm for hotels, restaurants, fast food chains and food outlets are hereby revised”, reads the notification issued by the Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on Monday.

“All kind of hotels, restaurants, fast food chains and food outlets are allowed to provide services (including dine-in and take-away and eatery in car parking) till 10:00 pm throughout Punjab.

“It is further clarified that there shall be no restriction on home delivery services round the clock”, the notification further reads.
