LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved distributing laptops among college and university students, enhancing their education by providing access to digital resources.
Maryam Nawaz led government vowed to improve digital literacy, by enabling interactive and flexible learning for the students.
CM approved two new initiatives, PML-N’s favorite Laptop Scheme, and students Scholarship Programme., instructing relevant departments to start working on the registration.
Punjab government also allocated over Rs125 billion each year to cover educational expenses of 25,000 students. She assured that these funds will fully support students’ educational needs. Chief Minister also mandated that prizes be given to the top students from each education board in Punjab, as well as to their teachers.
Punjab CM Laptop Scheme 2024
Punjab Laptop Scheme 2024 aims to improve digital literacy and educational access by equipping students from public universities, colleges, and technical institutions with essential technology.
The free laptop scheme will take about some months to complete, including planning, supplier selection, logistics, student registration, and distribution.
By providing laptops, the scheme seeks to enhance students’ learning opportunities and prepare them for the digital age, particularly benefiting those from underprivileged backgrounds. The initiative is noted for its thorough planning and broad reach, ensuring that deserving students are supported.
Punjab CM Laptop Scheme 2024 Launch Date
The provincial government is yet to reveal official date of launching and registration.
Furthermore, Punjab CM also launched transportation program for female students, beginning with the provision of buses to 60 girls’ colleges across the province in the first phase.
The meeting included Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Provincial Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary to the CM Sajid Zafar Dal, and Secretary Higher Education Dr. Farrukh Naveed.
