Punjab bikes scheme 2024: Update on motorcycle delivery date

LAHORE – E-balloting for Punjab bikes scheme 2024  was held last week and the government has also released the list of successful candidates.

The government had received total 72,640 applications – 57,370 for petrol bikes and 15,270 for e- Bikes – till the deadline i.e. May 1, 2024 from eligible students of Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi and Lahore

Under the scheme 19,000 Petrol motorcycles and 1,000 electric bikes will be distributed among students, who will be selected through balloting. The scheme has a dedicated quota for female students.

Out of 19,000 petrol bikes, 11,676 are for male students and 7,324 are for female students. Out of 1,000 Electric bikes, 700 have been allocated for male students and 300 for female students.

Post-Balloting Process

After the competition of the e-balloting, the financial scrutiny of the Guarantor/ Co-Borrower shall be carried out by the BOP.

“During this post-balloting scrutiny, BOP may ask for further documentation. Only those students shall be eventually declared successful for receipt of Bikes, whose post-balloting scrutiny by BOP turns out to be satisfactory. Necessary documentation shall be provided by the applicant students’ alongwith their online application for this purpose,” reads official statement.

How shall the Bike be delivered to the successful applicant student?

Upon receipt of payment by the vendor/their dealership, they shall either book the Bike or if readily available, will inform the BOP, its chassis number and engine number for insurance. Upon receipt of information, the BOP shall arrange its insurance, issue delivery order in the name of concerned dealership and handover Delivery Order to the student for delivery of bike.

Punjab Bikes Scheme 2024 Delivery Date

The Punjab government is yet to officially announce the date for delivering of the bikes to the eligible students. It is expected that the delivery process would be start before the budget for fiscal year 2024-25 following the completion of the all process by the Bank of Punjab.
