PESHAWAR – Rehan Zaib, a PTI-affiliated election candidate, was laid to rest on Thursday in his hometown Bajaur with thousands of people in attendance.
A large number of Bajaur and KP residents attended his funeral prayers, social media users are also paying tribute and condolences to the deceased member who lost his life during political campaign.
Zaib was affiliated with Imran Khan’s embattled Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf but was contesting elections independently. He hailed to the district neighboring Afghanistan and was gunned down while campaigning on Wednesday, as violence escalates a week before polls open.

The death of PTI leader was the second assassination this month as another candidate was shot dead.
Zaib succumbed at local hospital while his political supporters were in critical condition.
The killing of former ruling party comes in the wake of a bombing claimed by Daesh in Balochistan, raising security concerns amid rise in violence ahead of elections 2024.
