Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan expressed his happiness over the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision suspending PTI President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s detention and ordering his release, saying that justice has been upheld.

Reacting to IHC’s order of suspending PTI President’s detention, PTI Secretary General said: “Heartening to know that Justice has been upheld.”

He said that PTI President had been unlawfully apprehended and abducted from outside his house in Lahore by people in shalwar kameez who later turned out to be Islamabad Police. Omar stated that the Lahore High Court had summoned IGP Islamabad on Tuesday. “Hopefully Chaudhry Parvez Elahi will be able to go home today InshahAllah,” he added. “Condemn the farcical manner in which Punjab Police and Islamabad Police have been acting. They resemble an out of control gang of thugs rather than a disciplined Police Force.—INP
