ISLAMABAD – Former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Founder Imran Khan on Tuesday approached an Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) seeking bail 12 cases related to incidents on May 9.
Imran Khan’s legal team, led by lawyer Salman Safdar, moved the plea before the court.
The PTI founder said that he was currently on judicial remand in all the cases and that there is no recovery to be made from him. He said that the cases are malicious and that he is being targeted for political revenge.
He asked the court to grant him post-arrest bail in the said cases.
Last week, in a major relief to embattled PTI founder Imran Khan, the Lahore High Court (LHC) declared his physical remand in multiple May 9 cases null and void.
LHC’s Justice Tariq Saleema nd Justice Anwarul Haq announced the ruling on petitions filed by the former prime minister against his physical remand approved by an anti-terrorism court in 12 cases related to May 9 violence.
