ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday called of its protest in Islamabad for the release of its Founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan after the government’s crackdown.
Bushra Bibi, the spouse of Imran Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur reportedly disappeared from the scene.
According to the PTI statement, the next course of action would be announced after meeting with Iran Khan.
The PTI spokesperson stated that the peaceful protesters were met with a hail of bullets on the streets of Islamabad, leaving hundreds of unarmed Pakistanis injured and drenched in blood.
“We pay tribute to the workers and citizens who reached D-Chowk,” said the spokesperson.
The PTI spokesperson praised workers and citizens from across the country—especially those from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Sindh, and districts of North Punjab—who crossed rivers of fire and blood to peacefully reach D-Chowk.
The PTI also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the people of Rawalpindi and Islamabad for hosting caravans which arrived from across the country.
The central media department of PTI reported that the party is also thankful to overseas Pakistanis worldwide for organizing historic protests on the call of founding chairman Imran Khan.
