KARACHI – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday witnessed a sharp decline on the first day of the business week.
At the beginning of the trading day, the stock market recorded a decrease of 1338 points, after which the 100 Index is trading at the level of 61,605 points.
Earlier, after the elections, a sharp decline of 2300 points was observed in the 100 Index the next day, however, it closed at a decrease of 1200 points after recovery.
On the other hand, the dollar also gained value in the interbank last week.
On the first day of the business week, there was an increase of 22 paisa in the value of the US currency in the interbank, with the dollar trading at Rs. 279.50.
It may be mentioned here that at the end of the last trading day of the previous business week, the dollar closed at Rs279.28 in the interbank.
