The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed selling pressure during the trading session due to rising Covid-19 cases and upcoming rollover week, and the benchmark KSE-100 Index shed 376.93 points (-0.83 percent) to close at 44,929.61 points.
The KSE-100 Index opened on a positive note; however, gains from stocks were wiped in late hours of the session.
The index traded in a range of 614.7 points, showing an intraday high of 45,496.8 and a low of 44,882.7.
Among other indices, the KSE All Share Index shed 251.59 points (-0.82 percent) to close at 30,468.62 points, while All Share Islamic Index shed 269.24 points (-1.22 percent) to close at 21,769.24 points.
A total of 390 companies traded shares in the stock exchange, out of them shares of 92 closed up, shares of 276 closed down while shares of 22 companies remained unchanged.—TLTP
