ISLAMABAD – In a fresh change in Quetta Gladiators, South African cricketer Rilee Roussouw is roped in to lead Purple Force for Pakistan Super Leagie ninth edition PSL9.

Rossouw, who never led any side, replaced seasoned Sarfaraz Ahmed as Gladiators’ captain ahead of the ninth edition while Saud Shakeel got the role of vice-captain.

It was in 2019 that Quetta Gladiators lifted trophy of PSL, Pakistan’s flagship cricket tournament.

Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar earlier shared his thoughts about consideration regarding the captaincy, showing potential shift in leadership dynamics. He commended Sarfaraz for being leading man in Quetta Gladiators’ success.

Heaping praise on his leadership skills, Omar said his franchise’s performs well when team is good. Now our new coach Shane Watson has come to country. He opined break for Sarfaraz from captaincy, and said Sarfaraz and Watson will final the decision.

Excitement mounts as legend Sir Vivian Richards and Kevin Pietersen are expected to join Quetta.

With its glamour, glitz, and endless entertainment, Pakistan Super League is poised to kick off on February 17th in Lahore.
