The remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 in Karachi will go on as per the schedule and will not be moved from National Bank Cricket Arena to any other venue.

After last night’s attack on the Karachi Police Office, there was speculation that the remaining games may be moved out of the city.

Those rumours have now been put to rest with the Pakistan Cricket Board confident in the security arrangements made for the players. The teams will continue to be “provided Presidential level security” as the visiting squads have already been termed as the guests of the state.

PCB sees last night’s actions as an “isolated incident and unrelated to the PSL” which does not impact the fate of the tournament’s eighth edition.

Karachi is currently hosting the “home” matches of the Karachi Kings and the National Bank Cricket Arena will welcome its third visitor tonight, the Quetta Gladiators.

Karachi has already hosted PSL 8 matches against Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United at the same venue.

Lahore Qalandars and Quetta Gladiators had reportedly held their practice sessions at the stadium on Friday.

After the Kings are done with their “home” stretch the action will shift to Lahore and Rawalpindi.
