A protest demonstration was held in Muzaffarabad, AJK against the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to occupied Jammu and Kashmir, today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters gathered at Burhan Wani Shaheed Chowk in the city, and raised anti-India and resolute pro-freedom slogans. Their outcry underscored the enduring suffering inflicted upon the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir by Indian authorities.
Participants denounced Modi’s visit as a hollow gesture, fearing it would only exacerbate the already dire situation in the occupied territory rather than usher in any meaningful development.
Speakers on the occasion said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government was perpetrating severe war crimes against civilians in IIOJ&K since 2015.
The speakers vehemently condemned the Indian government’s blatant disregard for UN resolutions and its unilateral actions on August 5, 2019, aimed at altering the Muslim-majority status of the territory.
Demanding urgent intervention from international organizations, the protesters reiterated their unwavering commitment to resisting military occupation until the dawn of freedom in Kashmir.—KMS
