In a dramatic turn of events, the Mughal Khel tribe, joined by various political parties, staged a fervent protest against what they deemed an illegal police raid in the district of Lower South Waziristan. The uproar was sparked by a nighttime operation targeting a suspected drug dealer in the vicinity of Mughal Khel village near Wana Bazar.
Under the supervision of Wana police station SHO Allah Nawaz Wazir, authorities apprehended a man identified as Riaz during the raid, prompting swift backlash from local residents and political figures. Protesters denounced the actions of the police, accusing them of overstepping legal boundaries and violating established protocols.
Slogans reverberated through the streets as demonstrators vented their frustration against the police force, district administration, and law enforcement agencies. Key demands included holding the responsible SHO accountable for his actions and ensuring that justice prevailed in the aftermath of the controversial operation.
In a bid to quell the rising tensions, District Police Officer (DPO) Farman Ullah Wardag engaged in dialogue with a delegation representing the protesters, led by Mughal Khel village Chairman Rehan Wazir. Following successful negotiations, the protest was brought to a peaceful conclusion, with assurances from the DPO regarding an immediate investigation into the conduct of the SHO.
