The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) marked the culmination of its awareness campaign with a three-day National Conference (November 28-30, 2023) in collaboration with UNHCR aiming to secure Housing, Land, and Property (HLP) Rights for women and vulnerable groups in Pakistan.
In the first two days of the conference, Training of Trainers was held on Housing, Land and Property Rights (HLP) for strengthening, information, communication and legal assistance mechanisms to facilitate and support the flood affected persons to protect their HLP rights.
Noteworthy attendees included representatives from the Government of Pakistan, the United Nations, foreign dignitaries, international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), and academia. A Dialogue with the Political Leadership of Pakistan was held in collaboration with the SDGs Academy on the third day of the National Conference on Housing, Land and Property rights of Women in Pakistan.
The Dialogue was graced by Khalil George, Federal Minister for Human Rights who served as the Chief Guest. Noteworthy panelists for thedialogue included, Mr. Justice Dr. Syed Muhammad Anwer, Federal Shariat Court of Pakistan, Ms.SamarHaroonBilour, Ex MPA and current spokesperson of ANP, Ms. FoziaArshad, Senator and Mr. AmmarJaffri, Chairman, SDGs Academy.
