Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab announced that all necessary preparations had been completed in Karachi ahead of the expected rains. He stated that the Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC) had already cleaned the drainage systems and that municipal services staff were present at various locations.
According to the mayor, KMC had stationed pumps at depression points, and the Water Corporation had deployed 54 water browsers on the streets. Additionally, instructions were given to the Solid Waste Management department to drain water from the roads.
Mayor Wahab noted that all major metropolitan cities worldwide experience some challenges after rainfall, including countries like Canada and the United States, where the situation following heavy rains is well-known.
