Prayer session for APHC leader Nisar Rathar held in Srinagar

A prayer session was held at the residence of All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader and patron of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami, Nisar Hussain Rather in Bemina area of Srinagar. Nisar Hussain Rathar died on Tuesday.

A spokesman of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami in a statement in Srinagar said that a large number of people hailing from all walks of life including delegation of Hurriyat organizations participated in the prayer session.

The speakers addressing on the occasion paid glowing tributes to the late leader and threw light on his role in the Kashmir freedom movement. They said the Indian troops’ atrocities could not subdue the determination of Nisar Hussain Rathar and he remained associated with the freedom movement till his last breath. The deceased leader faced jails and persecution but he continued to challenge the Indian tyranny, they added.

The speakers said, “The lives of determined leaders like Nisar Hussain Rathar are a beacon for us, we should follow their footsteps and never take rest until the illegal Indian occupation ends.”

The delegation of Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami on the occasion expressed complete solidarity with the family members of the late leader.

At the end of the meeting the participants prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with patience. They also prayed for the early freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from Indian illegal occupation.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders including Muhammad Yasin Attai also participated in the prayer meeting.—KMS
