The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA), under the directions of PRA Chairperson, has intensified its efforts to ensure the broadening of tax base through bringing unregistered restaurants in tax net and integration of eligible restaurants with PRA’s Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS). The said enforcement drive has resulted in a significant rise in registered restaurants.
During the current fiscal year, around 2,500 restaurants were compulsorily registered by the Authority and 300 sale points were integrated with the PRA e-IMS during the current fiscal year. A number of restaurants were also voluntarily registered with PRA in view of enforcement actions and registration drive of PRA.
The PRA spokesman attributed the large number of registrations to enforcement activities, proper utilisation of third party data and PRA’s fully automated system PRA-IRIS .
Enforcement teams are very active in field now a days to ensure the due tax payments and integration of e-IMS system.
