Regarding the issue of backdoor contacts between PPP and PML-N, consultation started in the parliamentary party of PML-N Punjab on the offer of PPP for in-house change in Punjab.

According to PML-N sources, the PML-N’s parliamentary party is confused over the PPP’s offer regarding in-house change in Punjab and the parliamentary party of PML-N Punjab is clearly divided on the issue.

It is to be noted that majority of the PML-N members of Punjab Assembly want in-house change and PML-N Punjab’s parliamentary party is also in favour of efforts for in-house change.

On the other hand, leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz is also angry over the bad governance of the Punjab government and is also convinced of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s stance regarding an in-house change.

It has been learnt that a majority of the parliamentary party suggested that opposition leader Hamza Shahbaz should respond to the PPP offer positively.

The senior leaders of the parliamentary party are of the view that the in-house change in Punjab will tear the ruling coalition apart. Senior PML-N parliamentary leaders are reluctant to accept the PPP’s offer and have serious reservations about the PPP’s offer.

The senior leader of the parliamentary party is not ready to trust the PPP in any way. They believed that the PPP’s offer is in fact an attempt to split the party.

On the one hand, PPP is dreaming of PML-Q as the Punjab Chief Minister while on the other, the party leadership is trying to convince the PML-N for the purpose.

Meanwhile, leader of the opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz has responded to the parliamentary leaders that he would take the party president Shahbaz Sharif into confidence about the party leaders opinion.
