PPP’s Ghulam Mustafa Shah sworn in as NA Deputy Speaker

ISLAMABAD – Ghulam Mustafa Shah has sworn in as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly on Friday.

Shah, the joint candidate of allied parties, got 197 votes, while Independent candidate Sunni Ittehad Council SIC’s Junaid Khan secured 92 votes.

PML-N Supremo Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif, PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Asif Zardari, Umar Ayub, Asad Qaisar, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and Khalid Maqbool Siddique and others attended the session of lower house of parliament.

Ghulam Shah was a member of the National Assembly from August 2018 till August 2023. Earlier he was member of the National Assembly from 2002 to May 2018.

He was elected to National Assembly as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from Constituency NA-214 in 2002 Pakistani general election, and was re-elected to National Assembly as a candidate of PPP from Constituency NA-214 in 2008 Pakistani general election.

In 2013, Ghulam Shah was re-elected to National Assembly as PPP candidate from Constituency NA-214. He made to National Assembly from same constituency in the 2018 Pakistani general election.
