LAHORE – Pakistan Peoples’ Party leader Nadeem Afzal Chan strongly opposed alliance of his party with the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
“Respect Imran Khan’s mandate; there is public hatred against the PML-N,” said Chan while talking to a local private TV on Monday.
The PPP leader said he received anti-PML-N vote and Bilawal also became popular over criticism of the PML-N.
“Those who join hands with the PML-N will suffer losses,” said Chan.
Therefore, he said, the majority of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) opposed an alliance with the PML-N because it would harm the party and require great sacrifices.
Nadeem Afzal Chan also said that if others in the PML-N had the courage like Khawaja Saad Rafiq, there would have been only 15 seats for it.
“The true mandate belongs to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf or Pakistan Peoples Party. If Mohsin Naqvi were my friend, I would also become a member of the National Assembly. We have gathered evidence. Mukhtara was very worried; and I said, “Mukhtaria, you did not lose elections because of the votes, endure and stand against oppression,” said the PPP leader.
Similarly, former federal minister and recently separated from the Muslim League-Nawaz, Miftah Ismail also spoke in favor of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, saying, “Imran Khan is the only person at the moment who can win elections from every province and every city of Pakistan. There are no two opinions about it. You are filing false case of Iddat against him, which in my opinion, has never happened in the history of Islam.”
Speaking about the election results, he said that Nawaz Sharif should have said, “Go PTI, I am not forming the government.” What he told PTI in 2013 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, “Go, you are the largest party there, form the government.”
He said Nawaz sharif should have allowed recounting of votes in NA-130.
“Had Nawaz Sharif said let’s go PTI we count the votes in NA-130, his respect would have increased,” he added.
