Despite the suspension of the police station staff for releasing a confessional statement of the suspected attacker after a gun attack on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan, Lahore police have released another video of the assailant.

In the second video released by the Punjab police, the accused Naveed made fabricated allegations to justify his attack on former prime minister Imran Khan.

There is a contradiction in the confessional statements of the accused in both the video released by the police.

It may be noted that Punjab CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi after taking notice of a leaking video message of the attacker had suspended all the staff of the police station.

Following the assassination attempt, family members of suspect Naveed left the house but police detained his brother and other family members. Naveed worked as a plumber and has two minor sons.

Regarding the accused, areas residents said that Naveed was of a quiet nature.

The Punjab police on Friday arrested two more accused in an assassination attempt on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan.

The police sources said that both the accused including Waqas and Sajid Butt were arrested from Wazirabad after the already nabbed accused, Naveed informed the police about them.

“They had provided the pistol and bullets to accused Naveed at Rs20,000, while there was no license or number of the pistol”, as per the police sources.
