MIANWALI – The police on Monday thwarted a terrorists’attack in Mianwali.
A spokesperson of the Punjab police said 12 to 13 terrorists launched an attack on the Mianwali police check post from three sides last night.
The terrorists, he said, used modern weapons and engaged in intense firing at the police check post.
However, the determined action and modern technology employed by the police thwarted the terrorists’ attack.
After the tough response from the police, the terrorists escaped from the spot under the cover of the darkness.
The Mianwali DPO also reached the spot and started a search operation to apprehend the terrorists.
The DPO said that the Punjab police is determined against terrorism and fully prepared to confront terrorists in all forms, pointing out that protecting the lives and property of the people is their top priority.
Inspector General of Police, Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar commended the police team for thwarting the terrorist attack, saying that the Punjab police personnel stationed at the police check posts are frontline soldiers against terrorism.
He praised the sacrifices made by the police, burying the impure intentions of the enemy.
Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi also praised the brave young men of the Punjab police who foiled the terrorist attack on the check post.
In his message, he lauded the Punjab police for courageously thwarting the despicable intentions of terrorists.
