On the instructions of Inspector General Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar, Punjab Police has finalized the security plan of the province regarding Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said security will remain on high alert at sensitive places across the province on Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr. Additional personnel will be deployed at markets, mosques, Imambargahs, places of worship and recreational points.
IG Punjab said that more than 15 thousand officers and personnel will be posted in all the districts of the province including Lahore on Chand Raat, more than 5 thousand CCTV cameras, 3656 metal detectors, 30 walk-through gates will be used across the province for security arrangements. Dr. Usman Anwar said that more than 02 thousand officers and officials will perform security duties in the provincial capital on Chand Raat. Dolphin Squad and PRU teams will carry out continuous patrolling around important locations. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar said that aerial firing, one-wheeling and rioting are not allowed on Chand raat and Eid, bullies who harass the families and women will be locked up in immediate custody.
Dr. Usman Anwar added that security arrangements have been completed for Eid-ul-Fitr prayer gatherings at 25,913 places across the province.
37,000 officers and officials, PQR and special police teams will be deployed for Eid prayer gatherings. 138 walk-through gates, more than 12 thousand metal detectors and 3800 CCTV cameras will be used. Mosques, Imambargahs and sensitive places will be monitored from the control rooms of the Safe Cities Authority. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr in the provincial capital, more than 05 thousand officers and personnel will be deployed for Eid prayer security. IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar directed that the RPOs, DPOs should supervise the Eid security arrangements themselves. IG Punjab said that during Eid-ul-Fitr, law breakers involved in aerial firing, one-wheeling, kite flying will have to go to lock ups.
Similarly surety bonds will be taken from habitual criminals and record holders involved in One-wheeling, aerial firings.
