PM Shehbaz leaves for Peshawar

ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday left for Peshawar for a day-long visit.

During the visit, he will meet the rain and snowfall affected people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and distribute cheques among them.

Besides, the Prime Minister will meet Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Earlier in the day, PM Shehbaz said his government would further promote the local languages, literature and cultures of all regions.

In his congratulatory message in connection with the Saraiki Culture and Saraiki Ajrak Day, he said all the colours of Saraiki Wasaib are beautiful and unique. He said Saraiki is a very sweet language, which is spoken not only in South Punjab, but also in Balochistan and India.

The Prime Minister said Saraiki culture and Indus civilization have an ancient history of thousands of years.

The Prime Minister said Hazrat Baha-ud-din Zakariya, Hazrat Shah Rukn-e-Alam, Khawaja Ghulam Farid, Muhammad Salman Taunsvi, Sakhi Sarwar, Shah Shams Tabriz and other great Sufi saint further enriched the language.

Shehbaz Sharif expressed the belief of his government to promote civilization and culture of every region of the country. He said development of South Punjab, its art and culture has always been the top priority.
