Islamabad: In a noteworthy encounter at a recent event, Pakistan’s celebrated long-range shooter Mohsin Nawaz had the opportunity to greet Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and present him with the latest edition of Sports Times magazine, featuring Nawaz on its cover. This meeting provided a moment of recognition for Nawaz, who has made significant strides in the field of F-Class long-range shooting.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, impressed by Nawaz’s exceptional achievements, took a moment to commend the athlete for his dedication to the sport. He expressed his support for the development of shooting sports in Pakistan and assured that he would back efforts to provide better facilities and resources for athletes.

Mohsin Nawaz, who has earned international acclaim with over ten medals and lifetime memberships with the National Rifle Associations of both the UK and the USA, shared his vision for the future of shooting sports in Pakistan during the brief interaction. He emphasized the need for reforms in sports equipment import policies and the establishment of accessible training facilities across the country.

The conversation also covered Nawaz’s plans, including his participation in the 2026 World Championship, where he will represent Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has pledged continued support for athletes like Mohsin Nawaz, who are elevating Pakistan’s name on the global stage. He also committed to backing World Championship disciplines, alongside the country’s efforts in the Olympics.
