PESHAWAR – Rain, snowfall and isolated hailstorms are likely in Peshawar and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday evening/night, Monday and Tuesday.
As per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a westerly prevails over western parts of Pakistan. It will likely move towards the upper parts and may strengthen during the next 12 hours.
Under these conditions, intermittent rain-wind/thunderstorm is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Haripur, Kohistan, Shangla, Buner, Karak, Khyber, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Buner, Bajaur, Kurram, Waziristan, Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan and intense/heavy rain-snowfall in upper districts on Sunday evening/night, Monday and Tuesday. Isolated hailstorms may also occur during this period.
Heavy rain/snowfall may cause the closure of roads in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad and Shangla from Sunday to Tuesday. The possibility of landslides in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa cannot be ruled out during the forecast period.
Peshawar’s minimum temperatures will likely remain between 06-08 degrees Celsius on Monday and Tuesday.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed in Peshawar and most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. However, rain and snowfall were recorded in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
