PCB unveils proposed schedule for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

LAHORE – Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled the proposed schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, set to take place across Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi from February 19 to March 9, the sources said on Monday.

The sources said that the tournament would feature prominent cricketing nations including Pakistan, India, New Zealand and Bangladesh in Group A. Group B would comprise Australia, England, South Africa, and Afghanistan.

The tournament’s inaugural match is scheduled between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 19 in Karachi. The following day, on February 20, India and Bangladesh will clash in Lahore.

On February 21, Karachi will host a match between Afghanistan and South Africa, with Lahore witnessing a showdown between Australia and England on February 22.

Matches at per proposed schedule: 

As per the proposed schedule, Lahore will host the highly anticipated encounter between India and New Zealand on February 23, while Rawalpindi will witness Pakistan facing Bangladesh on February 24.

On February 25, Lahore will host a match between Afghanistan and England, followed by another thrilling contest between Australia and South Africa in Rawalpindi on February 26.

The schedule continues with a match between Bangladesh and New Zealand in Lahore on February 27, while Afghanistan and Australia will meet in Rawalpindi on February 28.

March 1 will feature a high-stakes match between India and Afghanistan in Lahore, followed by a clash between South Africa and England in Rawalpindi on March 2.

The tournament’s first semi-final is due on March 5 in Karachi, with the second semi-final scheduled for March 6 in Rawalpindi.

The final match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will be held in Lahore on March 9.
