The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 15-member support staff for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 in India. Team director MickeyArthur is set to join the side by 30 September.

The Men in Green play their first game against the Netherlands on October 6. The selection com-mittee has announced a 15-member squad led by Babar Azam with Shadab Khan a part of the squad for the World Cup. Naseem Shah unfortunately was ruled out due to injury concerns with Hasan Ali named his replacement.

Pakistan endured a forgetful Asia Cup campaign as they lost an opportunity to play in the final against India. They lost to Sri Lanka in a virtual semi-final and before that lost to India in the Super 4 stage that was played over two days.

Meanwhile, the team’s team bonding trip to Dubai next week has been cancelled due to a delay in the arrival of their visa as per reports in ESPNCricinfo.

Pakistan were supposed to fly to Dubai next week stay there for a couple of days and then travel to Hyderabad where they play their first game on October 6 against the Netherlands. This is Pakistan’s first trip to India in a decade. They last toured India in 2012-2013. Pakistan are scheduled to travel to India next week with the delay.

The delay in the arrangement of the visas will now subsequently delay Pakistan’s travel to India as well. They are now scheduled to depart for Hyderabad in the early hours of Wednesday. They last won the World Cup in 1992 and have a chance this time around to repeat the heroics.

There are concerns over the fitness of Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi after Naseem Shah was ruled out of the World Cup. Haris did not play the final game against Sri Lanka as he was rested for precautionary measures. Haris has recently resumed bowling at the NCA facility in Lahore and has been working on his fitness ahead of the mega event.
