The Fishermen Cooperative Society (FCS) delegation recently conducted a three-day productive and successful tour of China holding extensive and exhaustive meetings with leading Chinese fishing companies. The FCS team, led by Chairman Abdul Berr and comprising Director Umer Farooq Hashmi and Legal Consultant Atta Hussain, inspected and learnt about the latest and modern Chinese techniques adopted in deep sea fishing. The Fujian Association for the Promotion of Palegic Fisheries Development, led by its Chairman Zhang Shuiming ,President Chen Zeluan and Fujian Hengll Fishery Company, comprising Chairman Zhang Shuiming and General Manager Liu Jin, briefed and demonstrated to the visiting delegation about their improvised and innovative methods of Palegic fishing which if implemented in Pakistan will be far more beneficial for the fishermen than incumbent outmoded procedures. Talks between the FCS and Chinese companies remained fruitful and many collaborative ventures were discussed pertaining to improvement of fish market, the precision weighing techniques and effective marketing methods, etc. Chairman Fujian Fishery Co. showed his keen interest in launching new projects and schemes with the FCS to improve and refine contemporary conditions and fish-catching methods of fisherman in Pakistan.
