Pakistan take on Japan in Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey Cup final today

IPOH (Malaysia) – Three-time champions Pakistan is all set to lock horns with Japan in the 30th Sultan Azlan Shah Cup final to be played on today (May 11).

Green Shirts have secured 11 points as they defeated Canada, hosts Malaysia and South Korea while two matches against Japan and New Zealnd ended in draw. Japan beat Malaysia, South Korea and New Zealand and their match against Pakistan ended in a draw.

A day earlier, Pakistan secured a tie in their match against New Zealand. The Team Green’s fifth match on Friday saw them remain unbeaten throughout the tournament.

The match ended in a draw, with both teams securing one point each, the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) said.

Japan lead the points table with 13 points while Pakistan rank second with 11 points. New Zealand hold the third position with seven points while Malaysia follow them with a point less.
