President Dr Arif Alvi has said that Pakistan’s foreign policy is based on the universal values of peace, prosperity, mutual co-existence and the common good.
Pakistan seeks a world that is not only free of coronavirus but also of poverty, extremism, state terrorism (against innocent people of Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir) or conflicts among the nations and the countries.
The president expressed these views while talking to ambassadors-designate of Brazil, Denmark, Sweden, Greece, Hungary and Ukraine.
He also briefed the envoys about Pakistan’s successful strategy of smart lockdown which is even praised by the World Health Organization (WHO). Today, Pakistan is among the very few countries where infection rate is as low as 2pc while the rate of recovery is above 97pc, he said.
The president individually held brief meetings with each ambassador and hoped during his/her diplomatic tenure bilateral relations between Pakistan and the respective country will grow.
After presenting their papers, the ambassadors thanked the president and assured full cooperation of their countries in various areas such as business, education, energy, trade and tourism. Ambassador of Denmark Lis Rosenholm after the ceremony posted pictures on her Twitter handle and termed the reception at the Aiwan-e-Sadr a memorable experience of her life.
“I am truly honored to receive this magnificent ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr…Riding horse-carriage, trumpeters sounding fanfare & national anthems of Denmark and Pakistan beautifully played, unforgettable experience!” said she in a tweet.
