LAHORE – Ex-senator and owner of Pak Arab Housing Society Waqar Ahmed Khan has been arrested by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
The anti-graft watchdog held the owner of the famous Housing project after Lahore High Court rejected his protective bail in a fraud case.
Waqar was trying to seek protective bail for one day in NAB reference as his petition for pre-arrest bail was already rejected in the previous hearing. The property tycoon managed to evade arrest by authorties.
After recent Accountability Bureau officials took Waqar into custody while several housing scam victims were also present at court.
NAB started the probe against Khan for defrauding public at large by selling files more than the available plots.
It alleged that the former senator collected rupees ten billion from people who purchased the files of Pak-Arab Society Phase-II.
