Over 5, 000 cops will be deployed at important and sensitive sites of Karachi, including the Quaid’s mausoleum and Quaid’s residence, as the city police have implemented a security plan in view of risks of terrorism on the eve of Pakistan Day. Sources said that special security arrangements had been made in and around these buildings for the occasion.
Police had increased patrolling and snap checking in sensitive areas of the Sindh capital, sources elaborated. Additional Inspector General (AIG), Karachi Ghulam Nabi Memon has appealed to the people to immediately dial helpline 15 in case they notice a suspicious person or activity.
He has also directed all the police officials, both senior and junior, to remain present in the areas of their jurisdiction.
