Ousting govt not a solution

AHEAD of the planned long march of PPP against the government, political temperature is again on the rise.

The top leadership of PML (N) and PPP including Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari at a luncheon meeting on Saturday said they are considering all legal, constitutional and parliamentary options to oust the sitting government and fix woes afflicting the country.

Regardless of some improvement on economic front, there is no denying that the challenges faced by the country are immense.

Especially inflation has broken the back of common man while trade deficit is also soaring.

However, ousting the government is also not a solution.

There is no quick solution to our economic problems and doing politics on them will only aggravate the situation.

The statement of the opposition leaders against the government has come at a time when Prime Minister Imran Khan is on a very important visit to China where he is seeking cooperation to take the country towards industrialisation and technological development.

On such important occasions, our political forces while rising above their petty political interests should only transmit the message of political stability instead of uncertainty.

One is also compelled to ask from opposition parties as to what plan or magic wand they have to fix problems of the country.

These tall claims will only haunt them later when they came to power.

Hence, they must demonstrate maturity in their conduct and let the PTI government complete its mandated term.

The last three governments completed their five-year term and this continuity must not be derailed for the sake of democratic setup.

People in fact are the best judge and they should be allowed to decide the fate of PTI in next general elections on the basis of its performance.

Political stability is a must to steer the country out of crisis and to address problems of people.

It is also for the government to take requisite steps to provide genuine relief to common man hit hard by the price hike of essential commodities as well as move forward quickly on fulfilling promises made during the electioneering.
