On the directives of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Muhammad Sohail Rajput, the office has taken decisive actions to swiftly address public complaints against government departments.

Recently, a long-standing issue of Iftikhar Ahmed, a resident of Ayaz Town, Karachi, was resolved after 26 years. Iftikhar Ahmed had initially booked a flat in the Beach Avenue Project Hawks Bay Housing Scheme in 1998, making all necessary payments. However, the Lyari Development Authority (LDA) declared the project abandoned in 2009 and offered various alternatives to the allottees.

Despite opting for a substitute plot in 2015, Ahmed had not received a hearing from the LDA. Upon intervention by the Sindh Ombudsman, a notice was issued to the LDA. Following multiple hearings, the LDA authorities provided Iftikhar Ahmed with a plot in the same housing scheme. Ahmed expressed his gratitude in writing for the resolution of his issue.

The Provincial Ombudsman’s office also addressed the issue of property transfer for Nosheen Latif, a Sukkur resident, whose deceased father’s property was being withheld by the Mukhtiar Office. After the Ombudsman’s intervention, the property was transferred to the rightful heirs. Additionally, Mir Hassan, a resident of Taluka Kunri, District Umerkot, filed a complaint about the closure of Government Boys Primary School Rahim Khaskheli due to the lack of a teacher for eight years.

The Ombudsman’s office acted quickly, and a primary school teacher was appointed, resuming school operations. Hassan also expressed his gratitude for the prompt resolution.
