Governor Sindh, Muhammad Kamran Khan Tessori, emphasized his commitment to ensuring justice and addressing the needs of affected communities during a visit to 7000 Feet Road in New Karachi. Speaking to the media, Tessori assured that no one would face injustice, and he expressed concern for the livelihoods of those impacted by the construction of a drain that has filled with waste. During his visit, he met with the Deputy Commissioner and local residents, listening to their concerns regarding the ongoing work.
The Deputy Commissioner briefed the Governor on the situation, explaining that the drain’s cleaning would affect several businesses.
The Governor assured the locals that alternative options would be provided for their businesses, so they could continue to operate. “People should not lose their jobs amid economic challenges,” Governor Tessori stated, emphasizing that the government would work closely with all stakeholders to ensure a solution.
He also highlighted the importance of cleaning and improving the drain but stressed that the livelihood of the affected people must not be compromised. To address the issue comprehensively, Tessori called for consultations with the regional committee and other involved parties.
