ISLAMABAD – Social media users continue to dispel fake news in Pakistan, and there are post claiming holiday on September 11 to mark death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
As the nation is set to mark 76th death anniversary of Pakistan’s founder, it is to clarify that there will no local or public holiday in any district of Pakistan on Wednesday.
September 11 is not included as a national holiday in 2024 official gazette. Quaid’s anniversary is observed with Quran recitations and prayers at his mausoleum in Karachi. Special programs used to be air by state broadcaster to pay tribute to founder of Pakistan.
Parents of school-going students and general public are urged to follow authentic portals to get information as several posts on WhatsApp and other social sites found misleading.
